Deutsche Bank strengthens Equity Research in North America

Deutsche Bank today announced two senior additions to its Equity Research group in North America.

Chuck Grom will join as a Managing Director covering the Broadline & Department Stores and Food & Drug Retail sectors in the US. Grom will join from JP Morgan, where he was most recently the lead analyst for the Broadline, Department Store and Supermarket sectors. Prior to that, he covered the Small and Midcap Hardline Retail sector at JP Morgan. For the past three years, Grom was ranked the #2 analyst in his sector by Institutional Investor. Earlier in his career, he covered Homebuilders at Salomon Smith Barney.

Vishal Shah will join as a Managing Director covering the Alternative Energy and SemiCap Equipment sectors in the US. Shah joins from Barclays Capital, where he was twice ranked #1 in his sector by Institutional Investor. Prior to Barclays, Vishal was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers, responsible for research coverage of the Solar and SemiCap Equipment sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked at Needham & Co. and Morgan Stanley as a research analyst.

Both Grom and Shah will report to Steve Pollard, Managing Director and Head of Research for the Americas.

“We are delighted to welcome Chuck and Vishal to our team,” said Pollard. “These exciting additions underscore our focus on two important sectors and our commitment to providing clients superior thematic and actionable ideas”
