Deutsche Bank on the lookout for 100 enterprises to develop its data interface

  • Deutsche Bank seeking partners to discuss the potential of banking data
  • The offer is aimed at fintechs, start-ups and established players from all industries
  • Initiative to be launched at CEBIT 2018

Deutsche Bank is looking for 100 partners to join its ongoing API Program (Application Programming Interface). The API team wants to commence an in-depth dialogue with these firms in order to jointly evaluate the potential uses for banking data and the specifications that its dbAPI data interface must fulfil. In return, a series of benefits await those partners selected. They get the opportunity to develop interface solutions in pilot projects that meet their specifications and may use the dbAPI free of charge for six months (up to 1,000 users). The partners also benefit from access to Deutsche Bank’s internal innovation and start-up network, which includes the Innovation Labs, the Digital Factory and a variety of collaboration models.

“We want to have the broadest possible range of applications linked to our API that also go beyond traditional finance services,” says Joris Hensen, Co-Head of the Deutsche Bank API Program. “The more dialogue between us and our partners, the more appropriate solutions we can develop.”

Deutsche Bank is mainly looking for partners from the online retailing, mobility, healthcare and fitness, smart home, connected car, customer relationship management (CRM) sectors as well as for communication with authorities.

The initiative starts officially at this year’s CEBIT, the leading IT industry fair, which takes place from June 11 to 15 in Hanover. The dbAPI team will have its own exhibition stand there in the start-up zone (Hall 27, D61). Partners may be providers that want to enhance existing applications with the aid of bank data, as well as firms that want to build completely new solutions based on bank data. The bank aims to include 100 enterprises into its partner network over the next twelve months. Fintechs, start-ups and established companies from all industries can apply to join on the dbAPI Program website. To learn more: https://developer.db.com/

About Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank provides commercial and investment banking, retail banking, transaction banking and asset and wealth management products and services to corporations, governments, institutional investors, small and medium-sized businesses, and private individuals. Deutsche Bank is Germany’s leading bank, with a strong position in Europe and a significant presence in the Americas and Asia Pacific.

About dbAPI
The Deutsche Bank Application Programming Interface (dbAPI) forms the technical basis for Deutsche Bank’s platform business (open banking). dbAPI is the bank’s way of accelerating its speed of innovation and developing a new business model featuring innovative, bank-related products and services that also go far beyond traditional banking.
dbAPI enables the bank to include external partners, thereby expanding the range of digital products and services it offers clients quickly and securely. Following verification, dbAPI gives businesses – from startups to established brand-name players – access to individual client data. This access enables new personalised apps to be developed and existing applications to be improved and expanded. Deutsche Bank’s clients remain in complete control of their personal data at all times. They can decide for themselves whether they want to allow an external partner of the bank to access their data in return for the use of personalised digital services.
