Deutsche Bank appointed as depositary bank for the sponsored American Depositary Receipt program of Greene King plc
Deutsche Bank today announced its appointment as depositary bank for the sponsored Level I American Depositary Receipt (ADR) program of Greene King plc (Greene King).
Greene King has been brewing beer and operating pubs for over 200 years. Combining successful traditional ale brands with modern forward thinking, Greene King has grown steadily from its base in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk to become a leading pub retailer and brewer in the United Kingdom. Greene King operates four distinctive businesses: (i) Retail (which comprises managed pubs and restaurants in England and Wales, encompassing brands such as Hungry Horse, Old English Inns and Loch Fyne Restaurants); (ii) Pub Partners (involved with the running of Greene King's tenanted and leased pubs in England and Wales), (iii) Brewing Company (responsible for the marketing, sales, production and distribution of Greene King's quality range of ales and beers, including three of the country's best-known cask brands - Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen) and (iv) Belhaven (which operates in Scotland, mirroring the Greene King model, with managed and tenanted pubs as well as a brewing business).*
Akbar Poonawala, Head of Global Equity Services at Deutsche Bank said, “We are delighted to welcome Greene King to Deutsche Bank’s depositary receipts platform. Our broad range of customized services will be used to assist Greene King in enhancing the visibility of its ADR program with the investor community.”
