Deutsche Bank appoints a new Chief Country Officer and expands its Corporate Finance team in France

Deutsche Bank today announced the appointment of Marc Pandraud, 50, as Chief Country Officer of France and also the appointment of three senior hires in its Corporate Finance group within its Global Banking business. All four hires join from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and will work from Paris.

The three senior Corporate Finance hires joining the Bank are: Bruno Hallak and Julien Fabre who will be senior members in Corporate Finance client coverage and Emmanuel Hasbanian who will be Head of Mergers and Acquisitions France.

Jürgen Fitschen, Head of Regional Management, and Michael Cohrs, Head of Global Banking at Deutsche Bank, said: “We are pleased to welcome back Marc Pandraud to Deutsche Bank. Our appointment of Marc and his colleagues complements the Bank’s existing team and underscores our belief that France will remain a vital and growing marketplace in the years ahead.”

Marc Pandraud will report to Mr. Fitschen, and he will take over from Jacques-Henri David, 65, the Bank’s current Chief Country Officer of France, once he arrives in the second quarter. The Bank will make a further announcement about Mr. David in due course.

Marc Pandraud most recently served as Chairman of France at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1998 from Deutsche Morgan Grenfell where he was Co-Head of Corporate Finance in France for three years.

In France, Deutsche Bank acted as adviser or bookrunner on several major transactions in the past year, including: joint-bookrunner on a $969 million investment grade corporate bond for Caisse des Depots et Consignations in February 2009; joint-bookrunner on $779 million investment grade corporate bond for Accor SA in January; advised Pernod Ricard on the $9 billion acquisition of Vin & Sprit in 2008; and advised Renault on the $1 billion acquisition of a 25% stake in AvtoVAZ OAO in 2008.
