Deutsche Bank continues U.S. Power Trading Expansion with hire of Christopher Plante

Deutsche Bank today announced that Christopher Plante has joined the bank's Global Currencies & Commodities group within its Global Markets division as a Director and Head of North America Power Trading, focus ing on Northeast Power. Plante is based in New York and reports to Foster Smith, Managing Director and Head of U.S. Power and Natural Gas Trading.

"With increasing demand in the northeast and challenging market conditions as the summer months approach, it is more important than ever to have a strong power trading franchise in place," said Smith. "Chris's hire underscores our commitment to building-out our power capabilities in this region and his risk management and structuring expertise in electricity will prove valuable to our growing business and our clients."

Plante previously worked for Constellation Energy, where he was a Vice President responsible for power trading. Prior to that, he was an electricity trader at New Energy Ventures . Plante earned a BS in Finance from Babson College.
