Deutsche Bank hires Drausio Giacomelli as Head of EM Market Strategy

Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. today announced the hire of Drausio Giacomelli as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Market Strategy. Giacomelli will head a team of strategists responsible for generating investment recommendations on  emerging  markets’ currencies, equities, sovereign and corporate debt. Giacomelli will be based in New York and will report to Marcel Cassard, Managing Director and Global Head of Macro and Fixed Income Research.

Giacomelli joins the bank from J.P. Morgan, where he was Head of Latin American local markets strategy and Co-head of Latin America external debt strategy and economics research.

“Drausio is one of the most accomplished strategists in EM and brings a wealth of experience on Latin American markets to our team,” said Cassard. “I expect Drausio to be a major asset to our Emerging Markets franchise."

Giacomelli earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo and a PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
