Deutsche Bank launches Notes linked to Franklin Templeton Global Bond Global Bond Alpha Fund

Deutsche Bank this week launched a principal protected note available to non-US investors with a return linked to the performance of a portfolio managed by Franklin Templeton Investments which includes exposure to global sovereign and agency bonds, currencies, and related derivatives.

The notes, called Globe Notes, carry significant Libor/Euribor out performance targets of 3.0% and have been designed to provide stable returns and low volatility, with low correlation to fixed income, credit and equity markets.

The notes are issued by Deutsche Bank through its global EMTN programme and offer investors access to Franklin Templeton’s expertise in managing global bonds through the Franklin Templeton Global Bond Alpha Fund (a sub-fund of the Franklin Templeton Global Fund umbrella) launched exclusively for Globe Notes.

Commenting on the launch, Michael Hasenstab, Portfolio Manager and Co-Director of the Franklin Templeton International Fixed Income Group stated: “Globe is an exciting new product offering investors the potential for stable returns in a principal protected format. The broader flexibility and investment guidelines of the new Global Bond Alpha Fund will allow us to expand on our global bond investment capabilities while still leveraging our core investment views.”

Stephane Farouze, Global Head of Fund Derivatives comments, “We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Franklin Templeton Investments on this innovative new investment product. These notes provide clients with unique access to Franklin Templeton’s outstanding track record in global bond management and Deutsche Bank’s leadership in structured product development”
