Deutsche Securities Inc. appoints Yoshinobu Yamada, Senior Analyst, to its Global Markets Research team, expands sector coverage
Deutsche Securities Inc. (DSI) today announced the appointment of Yoshinobu Yamada and three other senior analysts to its Global Markets Research department. Mr. Yamada joins the company on September 15, 2009 as a Managing Director and Senior Analyst covering the Banking sector, together with Takahiro Kazahaya who joins DSI as a Director and as Senior Analyst on the Retail sector, effective from September 7, 2009. Additionally, Koichiro Yano, a Director formerly with DSI’s Global Banking division, was transferred to Global Markets Research to cover the Insurance & Brokerage sector, effective from August 3, while Yoshio Ando was appointed a Director and Senior Analyst for the Telecommunications sector on June 15.
Yoshinobu Yamada is one of the most highly rated analysts covering Japan’s banking sector, having held five Number One spots in the Nikkei Analyst Rankings to-date and was most recently rated third in the 2007 poll. He began his career at The Fuji Bank Ltd. in 1978 before moving from its Planning & Research Division to Credit Suisse First Boston in 1994 as a Senior Analyst. In 1995 he was appointed as a Senior Analyst at Smith New Court Securities and, following its acquisition, to Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Inc. until June 2008.
Takahiro Kazahaya is the number two ranked retail (specialty stores, apparel) analyst in the Nikkei Analyst Rankings as of March 22 this year, and is highly regarded by clients. He joined Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. in April 2001 following a year with Isetan Co., Ltd., and developed as a career analyst in the retail sector, rising to fourth place for stock-picking in the StarMine Analyst Awards by 2006.
Koichiro Yano originally joined DSI’s Global Banking division as a coverage officer in its Financial Institutions Group in July 2006, after seven years with HSBC Securities (Japan) Limited as an investment banker covering financial institutions and, prior to that, as a specialist M&A banker. He originally began his career with the former Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan, Ltd. in 1991.
Yoshio Ando was formerly Japan Telecommunications and IT Services analyst at Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd., from May 2000, where he was ranked number four by Institutional Investor magazine in both 2007 and 2008, and number five in the Nikkei Analyst Rankings. Mr. Ando has covered the Telecommunications and Internet sectors since 1996 after covering several technology-related sectors at Nomura Research Institute, where he began his career in 1986.
