The Group has been present in Poland since 1990 (when the DB AG representative office was established in Warsaw). Deutsche Bank Polska S.A. has operated without interruption since 11 October 1995 in its efforts to provide services to the largest Polish and international corporations and financial institutions. From July 2001 to November 2018 the Bank also offered a broad range of products to retail clients and SMEs. Initially, the retail bank operated as a separate institution when it did business as Deutsche Bank 24 S.A. Subsequently, it was renamed Deutsche Bank PBC S.A., and then, starting in February 2014 – after its acquisition by Deutsche Bank Polska S.A. – as a strong universal bank acting as a single entity. In February 2018 the Deutsche Bank AG Group announced its decision to sell its retail and business banking division in Poland together with the brokerage house doing business as DB Securities S.A. to Santander Bank Polska S.A. (formerly Bank Zachodni WBK S.A.). This transaction was completed in November 2018. Since then Deutsche Bank Polska has been providing banking services to Polish and international corporate clients, financial institutions and public sector while further pursuing its Corporate and Investment Banking operations in Poland, including Global Transaction Banking. The Bank also continues to cater to clients who hold mortgage loans and mortgage-backed loans denominated in foreign currencies taken out prior to the completion of the transaction.
