Getting involved

Deutsche Bank strongly encourages employee volunteering.

Being involved in our community is central to how we do business. The involvement of employee volunteers in Born to Be supports our commitment to employee development, motivation, work/life balance and diversity, and contributes to the success of our partnerships.

Employees support Born to Be as reading partners and mentors to students, through team challenges, by making donations and through fundraising.

An employee can take two days leave to volunteer at a charity of their choice or to participate in bank driven volunteer initiatives. Where an employee volunteers more than 30 hours a year to support a charity of their choice, we will offer donation support. The bank will also match employee donations up to an annual limit per employee.

We are proud to join other South Africans in celebrating Mandela Day. Every 18 July, our employees complete a volunteering project for 67 minutes in recognition of Mandela's 67-year struggle for social justice.
