On-demand society

Today’s digital real-time society has changed consumer behaviour. “Online, you assume you can get anything at anytime,” explains Dr Eike Wenzel, researcher of trends and future. This is why it is becoming increasingly important for companies to make their products and services available around the clock.

The on-demand society is also changing the creative scene. Ideas have to be developed and implemented at an increasingly fast pace. So-called “co-working spaces” – where a number of experts work together to develop new business models – are making this possible. “All you need to found a company today is a laptop, internet connection and a good idea,” says Welance founder Philipp Hentschel.
