Deutsche Bank triathletes gear up for the Enduro Challenge

A gruelling non-stop triathlon relay race from London to Paris, the Enduro Challenge is a test of speed, endurance and mental toughness.

Starting at London’s Marble Arch, the teams run 85 miles to Dover, swim the English Channel (30 miles with tidal drift) to France without a wetsuit and then complete a 180-mile cycle to Paris and the finish line at the Arc de Triomphe.

Each discipline of this triathlon is a non-stop relay and each team member completes roughly equal sections of the challenging run, cold water swim and cycle. All three disciplines will be half in daylight and half in darkness.

The challenge, which takes place from 22 - 25 August, will test both physical and mental endurance and this year Deutsche Bank will be up against five other teams – Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital, UBS and newcomers Tudor Capital.

The Enduro Challenge has always been a premier charitable event and this year the DB team will be raising funds for the Deutsche Bank Charities of the Year, which are the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and CHICKS.

2008 marks the third consecutive year of Deutsche Bank’s participation, and this year’s team features Huw Jones, Michael Holtz, Alex Wilson, Nina Van-Vlaanderen, Jamie Meyer, Antonio Paluseo and reserve member Neil Harris. Despite coming in fourth place overall in last year’s race, Deutsche Bank won the running leg, beating the previous record by four minutes.
