Missing People launch their Missing Rights Campaign

December 7, 2010 │ UK

Missing People, a charity supported by Deutsche Bank since 2008, have launched their campaign for ‘Missing Rights’, aiming to promote the rights of families and friends of missing persons.

As it stands, if your house is burgled, you are automatically offered emotional, practical and legal support, but if your child goes missing you may get nothing.
The ‘Missing Rights’ campaign calls on the Government to provide families of missing people with the same range of specialist support as victims of crime. The launch of the campaign comes as new figures reveal that an astonishing 330,000 reports of missing people were made across the UK last year – a third more than the previous highest estimate. The need to support the families left behind has never been greater.

Missing People are asking their supporters to lobby their local MP – you can find more details at the Missing People Website
