Deutsche Bank deliver Represent London’s first module of the academic year

November 4, 2010 │ London

In the build up to the Olympics in 2012, London Legacy 2020 has initiated an employability and volunteering programme called Rep London.

The aim is to leave a legacy of young people who will thrive in education and employment through the development of key skills, raised aspirations and the acquisition of community/business skills. On Thursday 4 November, Represent London held its first module of the academic year which was delivered by volunteers from Deutsche Bank. Fifteen students from St Angela’s and St Bonaventures, a sixth form based in Newham, attended the Deutsche Bank module ‘Presenting Yourself’ with fantastic results. After a series of exercises which concentrated on developing body language, confidence and focus, each student gave a brief presentation, using all that they had learnt in the session.

Students found it to be both challenging and rewarding; Jay Purkayastha remarked: ‘I would definitely recommend this workshop to anybody wishing for success in the future.’ Equally, the Deutsche Bank volunteers who took part also found the module to be a success; Jin Chin from the HR team at Deutsche commented: ‘I always get a buzz from the energetic, demanding and enthusiastic groups we get to work with. It all works so well!’
