Surviving Winter wins a prestigious PR award

April 2013 │ UK

Surviving Winter, the campaign to raise money to help older and vulnerable people stay warm and well, won the Hedgehog PR award for the Best Not-For-Profit Campaign of the Year.

Now in its second year, the Surviving Winter appeal provides small grants (typically around £500) to vulnerable people, helping them pay for fuel bills, warmth packs, boiler repairs and hot meals. Thanks to Deutsche Bank’s support of The London Community Foundation’s campaign costs, every penny donated to the London arm of Surviving Winter goes directly to older people in desperate need.

Nationally, the campaign has raised over £75,000 this winter. This record amount means that the UK Community Foundations (UKCF), which runs the campaign, has been able to give out over 100 grants to older people in need. And with the cold weather not giving up, they are still receiving donations. To find out more about the appeal and make a donation, visit Surviving Winter.
