Our partnership with StreetSmart raises money to help dozens of local charities and projects to help feed, clothe and support homeless people.

Homelessness is a real issue that is visible in cities across the UK. Local agencies report that around 8,000 people slept rough in London alone throughout 2015/2016. This is a six per cent rise on the previous year, and more than double the figure in 2009/10.[1] ([1] Rough Sleeping figures from Homeless Link CHAIN stats for 2015/16)

How it works

StreetSmart is a national fundraising campaign that runs every winter. During November and December, participating restaurants across the UK add a voluntary donation of £1 to every bill. Donations support local homelessness charities, so diners in Birmingham help the homeless in Birmingham. A sister campaign called SleepSmart sees participating hotels add £1 to every hotel bill.

Wherever Deutsche Bank does business, we are committed to building stronger and more inclusive communities and we are active at grassroots level, working to improve the day-to-day wellbeing of those most in need. For the past 11 years, Deutsche Bank has covered all the campaign costs, so that every penny in every pound raised is donated to local homelessness projects. Together, the campaign has raised over £5.5m since 2006.
