Frieze 2014

Deutsche Bank is proud to be the main sponsor of Frieze for the eleventh year running, a fair that has evolved into one of the main events in the international art calendar in London and New York.

Over three decades Deutsche has built an art collection that looks to the future and promotes new talent. Our partnership with Frieze is part of a global commitment to supporting artists and bringing people closer to art. Only at Frieze can you see both the most exciting art of the moment and the art of the past presented through a contemporary lens.

Visitors to the fair will be able to explore Frieze Projects, a programme of artists’ commissions realised annually at Frieze London, which has become even more interdisciplinary under the new directorship of Nicola Lees. Lees had already encouraged artists to experiment and to get together with people engaged in completely different disciplines in her position as curator at the Serpentine Gallery and is also involved in the conception of the new Frieze section “Live,” which is intended as a platform for performative and experimental positions.

Works with the potential to provoke can be found even in the elegant atmosphere of Frieze Masters. Only a few minutes on foot away from Frieze London, Masters presents art from all epochs - from antique objects to contemporary classics and we are proud to be sponsoring this for the third year running. The section “Spotlight” functions as a hinge between the two fairs. It’s run by Adriano Pedrosa, who among other things has worked as curator for the biennials in his native city of São Paulo and in Istanbul.

We continue to support Frieze because it makes art accessible to everyone. From first-time visitors to those who’ve been coming for years, it draws art lovers from all over the world and we hope as employees you will be able to enjoy the spirit of Frieze too.
