Deutsche Bank's long-term commitment to east London

July 2012 │ UK

At Deutsche we’re excited by all the opportunities the Olympics will bring to London. As well as giving us the chance to see the world’s greatest athletes perform, the games will help transform some of the capital’s poorest boroughs.

Deutsche has a long term commitment to the UK. We opened our London franchise in 1873 and now employ over 8,500 people in the UK and are one of the largest employers and occupiers of office space in the Square Mile of London. This long term commitment is why we’ve been involved in the regeneration of east London for the last ten years; long before the Olympics put the area on the map.

East London is one of the most vibrant areas of London and there are lots of opportunities to join in the build up to 2012 in the Olympic boroughs. These include CREATE, the international cultural festival that’s sponsored by Deutsche Bank.

The Olympics are a golden opportunity to regenerate east London and in addition to our existing projects in the area, we are involved in London Legacy 2020. This initiative by the East London Business Alliance is making sure the games produce immediate economic and social benefits for east London and lead to greater possibilities in the future, especially for the young.

We believe in east London and are as dedicated to its transformation as the athletes preparing for the biggest moment of their lives this summer. The end of their journey is in sight. Ours will continue long after the games are over.
