Deutsche Bank recognised for its commitment to working mothers

Deutsche Bank’s commitment to working mothers was recognised on Monday, when the Bank won the Best for Mothers Award at the annual Working Families Awards 2011. The award was given to the Bank in recognition of its maternity coaching programme. The awards exist to highlight specific examples of good practice and innovation within various sectors, including Financial Services.

Deutsche Bank introduced maternity coaching in 2008. The coaching is offered to all women going on maternity leave and their managers. The programme has become increasingly popular and is seen as very beneficial by those who participate. Deutsche Bank has seen an increase in the retention of women coming back from maternity leave since implementation.

Tom Slocock, CEO of Private Wealth Management in the UK and business sponsor for the Family Network, said: "We are delighted to have been recognised at the Working Family Awards 2011. The Best for Mothers award highlights the Bank’s strong commitment to working parents and their careers."

As well as winning the Best for Mothers Award, the Bank was also recognised as one of the Top 30 overall employers for working families.

Working Families consider the top employers to "demonstrate the practical application of a family-friendly approach to employment."

Working families is the UK’s leading work-life organisation. It supports and gives a voice to working parents and carers, whilst also working with employers to create workplaces which encourage work-life balance and high performance for everyone.
