Providing real world learning

We’re not all academic. Vocational skills offer young people the chance to forge their own path in life.

In partnership with the Design Museum, Design Ventura teaches creativity and enterprise skills for life beyond school.

How it works

Design Ventura introduces state school students aged 13–16 to the business of design. With guidance from creative and business professionals, they learn how to turn their ideas into products.

Teams are asked to fulfil a real world brief and pitch their ideas to design professionals like Sebastian Conran, Anya Hindmarch and Naomi Cleaver.

Students are given guided visits to the Design Museum and workshops to help them design their product. Deutsche Bank volunteers provide coaching on strategies for pricing, production and packaging.

The winning team’s design is put into production and sold in the Design Museum’s shop. All profits go to a charity of their choice.
