Young Enterprise is the UK’s largest business and enterprise education charity. Every year it helps 250,000 young people learn about business and the world of work in the classroom under the guidance of volunteers from 3,500 companies. Their mission statement is "to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise." And the guiding principle is to do this through ‘learning by doing’.
Michael Tang has recently been awarded with a “Gold Award” which is a volunteer recognition award for outstanding contributions to Young Enterprise. He was nominated by an Area Manager from Young Enterprise, Anthony Swatton. Anthony said, “Michael has been an active and enthusiastic Young Enterprise North London Board member since 2009 and is currently the board treasurer. In addition to his commitment to our Board, Michael has also been a very successful business adviser this year for The Henrietta Barnet School in Barnet - and has kindly agreed to continue to support this school again next year, at the request of the school!”
In response, Michael said, “Working with students on the Young Enterprise programmes has given me huge satisfaction. It is the look on their faces when they realise they can do it.”
Deutsche Bank has been supporting Young Enterprise since 2001. This year, our support will allow 1,950 young people from inner city state schools across London, Birmingham, Liverpool & Scotland to set up and run their own mini-business venture; learning vital business and entrepreneurial skills.Their businesses will trade at fairs and competitions, culminating in a national competition to be hosted here at Deutsche Bank in London.
