Deutsche Bank employees refurbish a Brooklyn nursing home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity-NYC.

Forty volunteers from Americas Group Finance spent a full day cleaning, priming and painting a Brooklyn nursing home as part of Habitat for Humanity-New York City’s “A Brush with Kindness” program. This program seeks to enhance, beautify and revitalize neighborhoods in which Habitat-NYC has built affordable homes. Habitat-NYC partners with the City’s Housing Authority to rehabilitate its youth and senior centers. The Deutsche volunteers worked in various areas of Cabs Nursing Home, a housing and rehabilitation center for senior citizens from the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.

This was the first non-construction volunteer project that employees have completed with Habitat-NYC. As part of the organization’s sustainable practices, they used environmentally friendly supplies, including non-toxic, low-VOC paint.

Volunteer David Mora complimented how the project allowed employees “to experience the camaraderie of accomplishing something together outside of their day-to-day jobs, one that really makes a difference in people’s lives.” Group Finance coordinates small and large group volunteer events throughout the year.
