Our commitment to diversity
At Deutsche Bank, we’re committed to a ‘One Bank Culture’, not a ‘One Culture Bank’. This goes beyond age, gender, disability, religion, ethnic origin or sexual identity. For us, a diverse culture is not just desirable: it’s an essential part of the way we do business. By embracing people’s differences we are stronger, more adaptable and better placed to deliver for our clients. It gives us agility. It adds value. And it creates a shared sense of purpose that unites us all.
We aim to foster an inclusive culture that values the diverse mix of our employees, utilizes their talents and helps them realize their full potential. Deutsche Bank knows that diverse teams are smarter teams, that success comes from many perspectives and that diversity is vital for delivering innovative solutions for our clients.
With this in mind, we have a wide range of diversity initiatives, including mentoring and development programs for minorities, a maternity coaching program, and diversity training for all managers.
We provide an inclusive and supportive environment in which all employees can advance their careers and professional skills. Our employee networks offer opportunities for people with similar professional interests and corporate values to meet and network on a regular basis through meetings, events and community volunteer activities.
We place particular emphasis on growing the number of women in senior positions, and our Women on Wall Street and Women in European Business networks and highly successful conferences are just two examples of our commitment to this.
Another is the ATLAS program, launched by Dr Ackermann, Chairman of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee (GEC), which will provide women leaders in the Bank with direct sponsorship from GEC members.
We believe that, in an increasingly competitive global market, our commitment to diversity will provide us with a distinct competitive advantage. As the people in our teams work towards achieving their goals, our commitment will personally empower them to meet the needs of every client. Everywhere.
