What are the basic skill sets and/or qualifications you look for in an Associate intern and/or Full time candidate?

While skills requirements vary depending upon the position that you are seeking, some general qualifications include a strong and consistent academic background, solid quantitative skills as well as evidence of personal motivation and ambition. Other skills integral to being successful at Deutsche include a sense of entrepreneurialism, the ability to work in a team and a desire to learn. Finally, a proven interest in the financial sector either via work experience in the sector or study is highly regarded.

 

Do you have separate programs for PhD students?

No. PhD students would undergo the same education in financial markets and investment banking as other graduates, if they have not worked in the industry before.

The first step in Deutsche Bank's recruitment process is our online application form (available through this website in the 'Application Center' area). All applicants to Deutsche Bank must complete the online application form, regardless of whether or not you attend a school at which we recruit.   When you complete the form, you will be asked to indicate your job and regional preferences. You will also be asked to share information about your background and relevant experiences. This is your opportunity to make the case for why you would be an outstanding employee for Deutsche Bank. This allows you to review and edit it on multiple occasions to ensure you get it right before sending it through to us.   Our recruiters review every online application that we receive. Once your application has been considered, they will contact you to let you know whether you have been selected to proceed to step two - the interview process. What should a candidate expect in a typical interview?

If you successfully pass the initial evaluation stage based upon your online application, you will be invited to interview with a member of our recruiting team. Depending on your geographical location and whether we are recruiting on your campus, we will conduct the interview at your school, in an arranged location (for example, a hotel), or in a Deutsche Bank office. Deutsche Bank targets and recruits for region-specific jobs at a number of key schools in a variety of regions around the world.

The interview process typically consists of one to three rounds of interviews and can also include quantitative tests, language tests and case studies. However, the specifics of the process vary depending on the region and the position you are applying for.
