Mentoring
Developing the talented even further
Mentoring programs exist to provide development opportunities for our employees. The relationship between the Mentor and Mentee is designed to provide a less experienced person - the Mentee - with support and advice.
The mentors are generally experienced people, who pledge their colleagues their support, help them make decisions and accompany them on their way for a while. Deutsche Bank offers about different 40 mentoring programs worldwide. Here is a selection of some programs:
- Next Steps Mentoring (UK): Deutsche Bank employees are matched with ethnic minority undergraduates from selected British universities.
- Mentoring for Women: Offers high potential women the opportunity to advance to higher skilled and management positions.
The co-operation between mentee and mentor in tandem enables an open exchange of experience which extends beyond generations and hierarchies, while at the same time creating new perspectives for employee development. The mentors have many years of management experience in the company as well as interesting contacts both within and outside Deutsche Bank.
Each mentoring program begins with a kick-off meeting for all mentees and mentors and concludes with a closing meeting. The programs range between 12 and 18 months in duration.
Mentoring within our Global Graduate Training Programs
We see mentoring as a crucial element for both orientation and career development. Therefore each Analyst/Associate is appointed a mentor from management who offers support with regards to professional as well as personal development.
