Americas
United States
Since establishing ourselves in the US in 1978, Deutsche Bank has quickly become one of the top players in the Americas. Through organic growth and acquisitions we have established a solid reputation for delivering innovative solutions. Deutsche Bank is now one of the largest non-US employers in New York City with staff in the Americas making up around 17% of our total workforce.
While New York's Wall Street remains the epicenter of Deutsche Bank's activities in the United States, we conduct business in over 15 cities across the country, from dealing with the tech sector in San Francisco, to transacting deals in Chicago and delivering solutions for private clients in Palm Beach.
Groundbreaking transactions are fast becoming a Deutsche Bank hallmark. In the first half of 2005 alone, we achieved the following notable deals:
- US$4 billion acquisition by Fresenius Medical Care of the Renal Care Group
- US$2.8 billion acquisition by Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation of Inamed Corporation
- US$3.5 billion transaction for Harrah's
We are also currently the leading M&A advisor in the US Technology, Healthcare, and Energy sectors, with several deals over US$1 billion. We are a top-ranked player in leveraged buyouts (LBOs) and our sales and trading revenues ranked number one for a second consecutive quarter in 2005. These deals merely scratch the surface of Deutsche Bank's many world-class activities during the last year.
Our commitment isn't just to our clients. Over the past three years, Deutsche Bank contributed over US$53 million in loans, investments and philanthropic grants to community programs through its DB Americas Foundation. And, through the Deutsche Bank Championship golf tournament, we have raised almost US$3 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation and other charities.

Chile
Deutsche Bank's presence in Chile dates to 1954, when the bank opened a Representative Office to attend the needs of its private clients and local subsidiaries of its German clients. After the merger with Bankers Trust, in 2000, Deutsche Bank applied for and was granted with a banking license (the first granted in Chile in 20 years). The license was key to the growth of the franchise in Chile as it firstly, strengthened the bank's strategic position in the Global Markets business by completing the array of products offered and secondly gave Deutsche Bank access to new funding alternatives (CD's, bank bonds, Central Bank repos, among others) by adding leveraged capacity to expand the different business lines.
DB Chile provides Corporate & Investment Banking, Sales and Trading and Asset Management products to large local and multinational companies. It also offers Private Banking linkage with offshore locations.
We are considered a leading global investment bank in Chile with a proven track record in a wide array of products. DB Chile's overall business model leverages local presence with New York industry and products expertise.
The entire operation in Chile has 48 employees at this time.
