The European Ladies’ golf elite in Ticino: Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open between June 14th and 20th, 2010

Ticino is the site of the tournament with one of the highest prize funds on the Ladies European Tour. Each spring, the Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open attracts the best female golfers and thousands of fans to a unique and beautifully located golf course.
After three highly successful and exciting tournaments on the high-class championship course in Golf Gerre Losone, close to Ascona in the Swiss canton of Ticino, the Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open will take place for a fourth time in May 2009. It is already considered one of the most important tournaments of the Ladies European Tour and with more than half a million euro in prize money, the Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open is also one of the most highly remunerated tournaments on the Ladies European Tour.

The competition of approx. 126 top female golfers between June 14th and 20th, 2010, will focus on the competitors’ impressive sporting accomplishments in this rising trend sport. In addition to the 2006 champion Gwladys Nocera (FRA), 2007 champion Bettina Hauert (GER), 2008 champion Suzann Pettersen (NOR) and 2009 champion Marianne Skarpnord (NOR), numerous other stars of international ladies’ golf started at this tournament, such as Amy Yang, Anna Rawson, Paula Marti Zambrano, golf legend Laura Davies, Lisa Hall, and Sophie Sandolo.

For the region and for thousands of fans and spectators, this important event in Ticino is also a societal highlight, which takes place against the striking background of the Swiss Alps. Every year a first-class program with lots of additional activities are presented. VIP events, such as the Deutsche Bank Pro-Am tournament or the Players' Party will delight our guests.
