A gentle giant: EcoCraft-Automotive is the first producer to go into series with an electrically powered transporter
Wunstorf, 21st July 2009 – It has a long life, is quiet, clean and economical – and all thanks to the fact that it runs on a battery. Eco-Craft from Wunstorf near Hannover has developed the EcoCarrier, the perfect vehicle for everyone who needs to transport heavy loads, but who is also very aware of environmental and climate protection issues. The chunky transporter is powered by a 20.5 bhp electric engine, produces absolutely no emissions and makes practically no noise. It can travel 75 km/h on each battery charge – perfectly sufficient for anyone driving short distances. Of course, the van has plenty of space for shovels, rakes, brushes and tool boxes. But what really makes it come up trumps are its intrinsic values: according to the manufacturer, the energy costs for driving 100 kilometres are between € 2.50 and €4 depending on the price of electricity and how the vehicle is driven. The low overheads mean it’s an interesting option for both councils and firms. And the only carbon dioxide created is at the power station when producing the electricity for the battery.

The sporty eco car: Clean, fast, efficient – a new generation of cars in the making
Marl, 11th May 2009 - 200 km/h down the fast lane – what could be more thrilling for people who enjoy driving fast cars? Unfortunately, the effect on the environment is not as elating. Current diesel and petrol engines still consume too much fuel and pollute the environment with CO² and particulate matter. Loremo, the “LOw REsistance MObile”, is about to change all that. Series production of the sporty little car is scheduled to start in 2010, with Loremo AG offering both a diesel and an electric version. With a consumption of 2 litres per 100 kilometres, or alternatively a range of 200 kilometres on one battery charge, the sports car is not only particularly economical but also conserves resources. This attractive new generation vehicle is based on a trendsetting concept. An extraordinarily low weight of 600 kg in combination with good aerodynamics ensures that it uses as little energy as possible. Whoever chooses to buy a Loremo is making a statement about responsibility for the environment, while getting a car which is nimble and fun to drive.

Berlin, 3rd April 2009 - It is small, agile and ideal for the traffic in cities – and at the same time it is powered solely by the sun and human strength. messenger Transport Logistik GmbH in Berlin have produced the Porter and Cargo Cruiser, a ‘green’ generation transporter and one which can easily compete with its petrol-consuming rivals. It is ecologically friendly and can easily transport loads of up to 250 kilogrammes. The futuristic vehicle looks a little like an oversized tricycle, equipped with an electric engine powered by solar energy which reduces the strain on the legs when pushing off or going uphill. You can use the pedals – but you don’t have to. With a calculated consumption of 0.5 litres per 100 kilometres these small ‘trucks’ are uniquely economical and ecological – and therefore fit the picture of a traffic concept geared towards mobility and protecting the environment perfectly. No noise, no fumes and yet a bundle of power. As far as protecting the environment is concerned, the Porter and Cargo Cruiser is an unrivalled clean alternative.
