Deutsche Bank’s Derek Shakespeare appointed Director General of the UK Takeover Panel
Deutsche Bank, LONDON - Derek Shakespeare, Deutsche Bank’s Chairman, EMEA M&A, is today named as the next Director General of the UK Takeover Panel. He will join the Panel on a two-year secondment from DB commencing on 1 August 2026.
The UK Takeover Panel is an independent body responsible for issuing and administering the UK Takeover Code, supervising and regulating takeovers, and ensuring fair treatment of shareholders and an orderly framework for takeover bids.
Mr. Shakespeare has almost 35 years of experience in investment banking and he has advised on numerous acquisitions and disposals in the UK and globally across a range of sectors.
