    In an effort to inspire migrant children toward science and broaden their horizons, Deutsche Bank and INCLUDED, an NGO partner of the Bank focusing on educating migrant children, organised a science education tour at Guangdong Science Centre on Saturday, June 6. 30 migrant children aged between eight and ten attended the tour, accompanied by 22 volunteers from Deutsche Bank Guangzhou Branch. more

  • Bring Me A Book event ignites interest to read in children from low-income families

    On Friday, May 15, 19 volunteers from Deutsche Bank Hong Kong, led by Chief Country Officer Peter Lo, spent a Friday afternoon at a local kindergarten, reading and interacting with the children. They were there for an event organised by 'Bring Me A Book Hong Kong' (BMAB), a registered charity in Hong Kong that promotes family literacy by helping children from low-income households access quality children’s books, as well as empowering parents and educators to help the children succeed in school and life. more

  • Deutsche Bank Singapore exposes secondary students to real-world banking

    To inspire young people to strive to achieve their dreams is the core of Deutsche Bank’s Born to Be programme. As part of the Halogen Foundation Singapore’s first engagement with Deutsche Bank, a corporate visit for 35 Secondary four Normal Technical stream students was organised at the Bank’s Singapore offices. The event aimed to provide the students with a real-world exposure to banking, the concepts of trade and money,and Deutsche Bank’s various operations. more

  • Paying it forward continues at Pali Ashramshala

    On March 28, 2015, 73 volunteers from Mumbai and Pune supported tribal students at Kulaba Zilla Adivasi Seva Mandal (Pali Ashramshala), a school for underprivileged children at Pali, India, by giving the classrooms and living areas of the school a new look. The activity received strong support from volunteers from Pune Near and Offshore Centre (NOC), Mumbai NOC, Deutsche Bank AG Mumbai Branch and Deutsche CIB Centre. more

  • Art Ed Session I: Painting Joy with Watercolour

    In partnership with the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Fine Arts, Deutsche Knowledge Services (DKS) Corporate Responsibility 2015 kicked off the Art Ed series on painting on February 28. Led by Detusche Bank employees Camille-J Conanan and Kara Lopez, the first session aimed to cultivate a rudimentary understanding of colour. 20 children from the Asian Students Christian Foundation (ASCF) and 20 employees, with and without prior knowledge of artistic techniques learned to appreciate art and tap their creativity in the full-day session. more

  • Art workshop at Singapore Art Museum exposes children to contemporary art

    In a unique effort to expose children to contemporary art, Deutsche Bank Singapore worked with the Singapore Art Museum to enable children to attend art workshops. The workshops were held from November 2014 to January 2015, in conjunction with Time Present: Photography from the Deutsche Bank Collection, an exhibition of photography from the Deutsche Bank Collection, which served as the focus for the workshops. more

  • Deutsche Bank supports the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, providing daily lunches to schools

    On October 13, Deutsche Bank volunteers in Jaipur visited the Akshay Patra Foundation, which tackles various societal issues such as malnutrition in India. One of their many projects is the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, implemented in partnership with government and government-aided schools. This projects aims not only to fight hunger, but also to encourage children to go to school and receive a formal education. more

  • Dignity for Children Foundation visits Deutsche Bank’s office in Malaysia

  • Addressing deep-rooted needs in Siem Reap

    Siem Reap, the tourist gateway to Angkor Wat, sees millions of tourists visit annually. Despite this, many living in poverty do not have access to quality medical care and clean drinking water. To address these needs, Deutsche Bank began partnering with Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) in 2009 and Singapore International Foundation in 2010. more

  • Sewa Day’s third year in Asia Pacific sees intiative expanding from Hong Kong to Singapore

    Championed by Dixit Joshi, Head of Equities APAC, Deutsche Bank has been spreading the message of Sewa Day in Asia Pacific over the past three years. This September, the bank led the way by organising three projects for Sewa Day, furthering the cause of 'Sewa' or selfless donation of one's time, and directly making a difference to over 2,500 people in Hong Kong and Singapore. In total, more than 30 projects were organised in Hong Kong and Singapore, with more than 400 volunteers pledging their time to benefit all sections of society and the environment. more

  • Deutsche Bank funds the Mobile Vision Care Clinic for the underprivileged

    In conjunction with Caritas Anuradhapura, the Bank launched the Mobile Vision Care Clinic in the town of Nochichiyagama on June 21, targeting over 570 beneficiaries. This project involved testing eyesight and fitting patients with spectacles if required. more

    On May 30, 2014, Deutsche Bank Korea’s Finance team volunteered to prepare and serve food to the elderly on welfare in Seoul. At Happy World Welfare Centre in the eastern suburb of Seoul, the team cooked and served lunch for more than 100 elderly people visiting the Centre, and delivered 30 lunch boxes to those who couldn’t, due to disabilities or illnesses. more

  • Employees from Japan and Asia combine to build second playground in Tohoku

    Volunteers from Japan and Asia joined hands again between November 7 to 9 to build a playground for an elementary school in Ishinomaki, a coastal town that was struck heavily by both the earthquake and subsequent tsunami of March 11, 2011. The event is one of a number in recent months to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation, the first and a significant contributor to the funds for relief efforts in Tohoku. more

  • Lakshya 2013 equips Indian non-profits for game changing development in the social sector

    In its second edition, ‘Lakshya’, Deutsche Bank’s capacity-building workshop for small and growing Indian non-government organisations (NGOs), has taken another decisive step towards being established as a forum where important social sector developmental issues are discussed and actionable solutions are determined. Held on October 23 at the MCA Club in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai’s upcoming business hub, Lakshya 2013 was attended by 150 delegates, including about 120 NGO representatives, several heads of Corporate Responsibility departments and Foundations, and other sector experts. more
