Deutsche Bank's Corporate Responsibility programme is anchored on the principle of 'Building Social Capital'. Our Corporate Responsibility programme focuses on critical issues in these areas and is carried out across Asia through the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation.

  • Deutsche Bank Christmas Charity bazaar sees staff and public purchasing presents to enrich the lives of the less fortunate

    Over the past four years, the Deutsche Bank Singapore annual Christmas Charity charity bazaar has raised close to SGD 80,000 for causes in Singapore and around Asia. This year, with the support of our landlord Raffles Quay Asset Management, the bazaar was held at our office lobby for the first time, allowing charity partners to reach out to the general public as well as Deutsche Bank staff. more

  • Born to Be – Huong Duong Orphan and Disable Patronage Center (HDC) Project gives underprivileged children and youths a chance to improve and expand education

    On a weekend visit to Huong Duong Orphan and Disable Patronage Centre (HDC), Vietnam, Deutsche Bank volunteers witnessed The Vinh, Head of HDC, rolling up his sleeves and building a stage for the celebration of the founding of HDC. Coming from a professional background, Vinh’s career has undergone a complete change: he now maintains ten classes weekly, teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry.   • Born to Be – Learning grant from Deutsche Bank enables children’s choir to pursue better lives through education

    The Deutsche Bank-Philippine Christian Foundation (PCF) Children’s Choir, comprising 22 members between six and 16 years old, was formed in 2012. Members were selected from PCF students who auditioned for a slot. Deutsche Bank has supported choir members’ education since December last year as part of the bank’s corporate responsibility programme and under its Born to Be campaign. more

  • Hair For Hope – Singapore staff make bald statement supporting children with cancer

    Thursday, June 5, saw 53 people, including 11 children of staff, converge at the Singapore offices to have their heads shaved as a demonstration of their support and to raise funds for children with cancer. The event, part of the annual Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) Hair for Hope initiative, creates awareness of childhood cancer, raises funds, and builds a community of support for children with cancer and their families. more

  • Volunteers from Mumbai Service Centre spend day out with children from Janvi Charitable Trust

    Volunteers from Mumbai Service Centre’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) team made the start to the vacation season memorable for children at NGO partner Janvi Charitable Trust (JCT) by taking them on a day’s outing to Kidzania – a simulated vocational learning platform. 30 children from JCT participated in a five-hour event that offered a blend of learning with entertainment via interactive real-life role-playing activities. From pizza and doughnut-making to being stylists and surgeons, the theme park offered a plethora of ‘job activities’ for the children to participate in. To do so, the children had to earn or spend simulated currency, thus giving them experience of real life economics and budgeting. more

  • DKS Rock-Ed's band, Abstract, records debut album in May

    Flashback to May 2009 and the first day of DKS Rock-ed: 30 young street children arrived in the office, unsure of what this new programme was all about.     On April 28, Angkor Hospital for Children’s (AHC), a beneficiary of Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific Foundation, inaugurated a newly renovated and expanded Outpatient Department in Siem Reap, Cambodia. AHC provides outpatient, inpatient, intensive, surgical, and HIV care, as well as other services, free of charge, to over 120,000 underprivileged children in Cambodia every year.   • Deutsche Bank Singapore holds charity bazaar to raise funds for Typhoon Haiyan

    The annual Christmas Charity Bazaar in Singapore was held in the One Raffles Quay office on November 29. Eight local charities and one regional charity were invited to set up booths selling various items for charity, including handmade jewellery, bags, novelty items, baked goods, and finger food. Deutsche Bank volunteers championed each cause and took the lead in liaising with the charities. More than 20 volunteers helped to set up and man the stalls, enthusiastically promoting the products to colleagues. more

  • New school building and water filters for villagers of Haburugala, Sri Lanka

    Villagers in Haburugala belong to one of the poorest communities in Sri Lanka. They make a living from agriculture, and usually only earn a daily wage. The spread of chronic kidney disease, previously only prevalent in the North Central Province, only adds to the woes of the villagers. According to medical experts, the disease is believed to be caused by agricultural pesticides gradually contaminating the water over the years. 400 farmer families, identified with the support of the divisional secretariat officials from four grama-seva divisions, were provided with drinking water filters. More than 2000 villagers are expected to benefit from the water filters. more

    In its second edition, ‘Lakshya’, Deutsche Bank’s capacity-building workshop for small and growing Indian non-government organisations (NGOs), has taken another decisive step towards being established as a forum where important social sector developmental issues are discussed and actionable solutions are determined. Held on October 23 at the MCA Club in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai’s upcoming business hub, Lakshya 2013 was attended by 150 delegates, including about 120 NGO representatives, several heads of Corporate Responsibility departments and Foundations, and other sector experts. more

  • SEWA Day Hong Kong – donate time through service rather than money

    On Sunday, October 6, 2013, more than 40 Deutsche Bank Hong Kong staff and family participated in the Sewa Day Food For Life project by cooking and distributing vegetarian food to over 1,000 underprivileged and elderly people in Hong Kong. Introduced to Deutsche Bank by Dixit Joshi, Head of Equities, Asia, this year’s event represented Deutsche Bank's second association with Food For Life, one of the world's largest vegetarian food relief networks. The project entailed chopping, cooking, packing, delivering and distributing food to the beneficiaries. Volunteers were being exposed to a different side of Hong Kong through the three delivery centres in Kowloon and New Territory (Sham Shui Po, Tuen Mun and Nam Cheong), leaving an indelible mark on all of them. more
