German Public Relations Awards 2014

Deutsche Bank‘s global employee magazine, Forum, and the Bank’s “Macht Kunst!” (Make Art) campaign have each been recognised in the 2014 International German Public Relations Awards.

Forum was recognised in the “Channels / employee publications and intranet” category for its fourth edition of 2013, while Macht Kunst! – an initiative of Deutsche Bank‘s art department – received the award in the “Communications management/innovative and creative PR” category.

“Macht Kunst!” was created to mark the opening of the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle (art gallery) in Berlin in April 2013. As part of the campaign, artists in the city were invited to submit a piece of work for a 24-hour exhibition in the rooms of the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle, which were still empty at that time. So huge was the response that Deutsche Bank displayed a total of 2,135 artworks in two exhibitions in the KunstHalle and the Alte Münze, a former mint which is now an exhibition and event venue. The exhibitions were judged by a panel, which singled out six artists whose works were then showcased from December 2013 to June 2014 in individual presentations in the KunstHalle studio.

Forum and “Macht Kunst!” have already received a number of accolades. The employee magazine received the Gold Award at DPRG's inkom. Grand Prix in 2012, 2013 and 2014 while “Macht Kunst!” was named Best of the Best in the “promotion” category at the reddot international design competition. The media response to the “Macht Kunst!” campaign was also overwhelmingly positive.
