Deutsche Bank's Artist of the Year 2015 exhibition at MACRO museum in Rome

Deutsche Bank brings in Italy 'A Vulnerable Narrator, Deferred Rhythms', the widest solo exhibition of Japanese artist Koki Tanaka,  which will be visible at  MACRO - Contemporary Art Museum of Rome from October 1st to November 15th 2015.

The exhibition has been  developed within the partnership between MACRO and Deutsche Bank launched in 2012 with the aim to bring in Italy the Deutsche Bank's "Artist of the Year" Award - the annual recognition dedicated to young artists that outstood due to their work's creativity and significance, jointly to exhibitions of eminent artists of the contemporary international scene.

After Yto Barrada (September-November 2012), Imran Qureshi (September-November 2013) - respectively Deutsche Bank "Artist of the Year" 2011 and 2013, and Tobias Rehberger (September 2014 - January 2015), this year we will meet Koki Tanaka, Japanese artist born in 1975, rewarded in 2015 for his innovative approach and his capability to connect aesthetic concerns to social issues.

The solo exhibition, promoted by Assessor for Culture and Tourism of Rome - Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage and curated by Britta Faerber, Chief Curator of Deutsche Bank, offers a comprehensive overview of Koki Tanaka's work. Through  video installations, photographs, and drawings, the exhibition connects projects, documents and ideas from almost a decade of artistic activity, from early experiments with mass-produced goods and materials, to his recent collaborative actions and performances.

This event is part of global initiatives fostered by Deutsche Bank to support contemporary art. The "Artist of the Year" award reinforces the commitment the Bank has always addressed to the most innovative and deserving artists.
