A Passion for Music: Berliner Philharmoniker’s Digital Concert Hall made possible by Deutsche Bank
Dr. Josef Ackermann, Chairman of the Management Board at Deutsche Bank AG, said: “The Digital Concert Hall is innovative, modern and unprecedented in the world of classical music. At the same time, it is a global project of fundamental importance, which transcends borders, social classes and age groups. The concept of the Digital Concert Hall fits in perfectly with our bank and its objective to create social capital through its social commitment – all around the world. We are proud to be able to shape the music of the future together with the Berliner Philharmoniker. We share the same basic approach. Both partners stand for passion and top quality. We are united by a common “passion for music”. Through the Digital Concert Hall, we can give our clients, business acquaintances and staff as well as music lovers around the world access to this outstanding orchestra.”
The new Digital Concert Hall offers listeners the possibility to experience concerts by the Berliner Philharmoniker through their computer, television or stereo system at home or anywhere in the world at any time – authentically and in brilliant image and sound quality. The initiative is a further highlight of the partnership.
In addition to supporting the orchestra, the partnership focuses particularly on the educational project Zukunft@BPhil. Girls and boys from all social backgrounds and cultural groups become involved with music, produce their own works and take part in public performances as part of this project. Since the launch of these workshops in 2002, over 11,000 children and young people have had the opportunity to discover their own individual talents, exceed personal limits and transcend cultural barriers.
Deutsche Bank CEO Ackermann: “Discovering and promoting talent is of utmost importance to companies and society. Only those who recognize their own personal potential and use this potential can establish a basis for innovation and growth. That’s why we support educational projects worldwide that enable young people in particular to recognize and develop their skills as well as encouraging them to be top performers.”
