Deutsche Securities appoints Shunichi Maeda as Vice Chairman of Global Banking for Japan
Deutsche Securities Inc. (DSI), today announced the appointment of Shunichi Maeda as Managing Director, Vice Chairman of Global Banking, Japan, on May 1, 2008. Mr. Maeda brings a wealth of experience, business networks and senior contacts, particularly in the areas of M&A, corporate restructuring and private equity to the Global Banking Division at DSI.
Mr. Maeda began his career with Mitsubishi Corporation from 1969 and from 1984 until 1987, served on the World Bank in Washington DC, before returning to the company to lead its Corporate Finance (M&A) Department. In November 1990, Mr. Maeda was simultaneously appointed President & CEO of MC Financial Services, Ltd., to head Mitsubishi Corporation’s investment banking business in the United States, and President of MC Capital Inc., to serve the investment banking, private equity and other financial services needs of its US and Japanese clients. After retiring from Mitsubishi Corporation in 2003, Mr. Maeda joined Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. as Senior Executive in November 2003 before being appointed Deputy President and Executive Officer of the company in September 2007.
In addition to his career as a corporate financier and global business professional at Mitsubishi Corporation and Lehman Brothers, Mr. Maeda lectures at several universities in Japan and is an established commentator in the field through his presentations at key industry events, his books and his prolific translations to Japanese of prominent English-language publications.
