Deutsche Bank Russia takes part in a Workshop on Direct Debit at the National Payment Council

Maria Tiphlova, Head of Russia Product Management with Deutsche Bank in Russia, made a presentation at the Workshop on Direct Debit held by the Non-Profit Partnership “National Payment Council” on 10 December in Moscow. Maria talked on direct debit instruments used in the European Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).

Maria Tiphlova pointed out that the regulatory framework was developed for SEPA with due regard to laws and regulations of all the European participants in the EU payment system. Direct debit is widely used to advantage in the European market to support servicing the payments made by individuals as well as by legal bodies. However, these two are regulated in a visibly different manner, e.g. in respect of withdrawal of payments. ЕU corporations apply direct debit instruments as an instrument of reducing outstanding account receivables, as well as in trade financing and factoring transactions.
