Deutsche Bank Russia and Deutsche Bank Technology Centre took an active part in a global charity initiative

In April 2020, as part of its Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Deutsche Bank launched a relief campaign to support selected local Food & Shelter charities that encountered major difficulties and severe pressure during the COVID-19 pandemic and could not keep up support the most vulnerable during these unprecedented times.

In Moscow and St. Petersburg employees of Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Bank Technology Centre eagerly participated in the initiative by supporting our long-standing partner, the “Starost v Radost” (Enjoyable Aging) foundation. For many years, “Starost v Radost” has supported one of the most vulnerable group of people in our country: disabled and elderly people in need living in nursing homes. Their goal is to improve life of people who live in homes for the disabled and in nursing homes, let them feel that they are not alone, not abandoned, not forgotten and that someone cares for them. Deutsche Bank has developed a long-standing partnership with the foundation, organising joint charity activities and fundraisings supporting those in the foundation’s care. The money donated by Deutsche Bank and Tech Centre employees under the joint project “We’re here for you – Deutsche Bank” enabled the foundation to purchase and deliver antiseptics and disinfectants, personal protective equipment, food packs, meals, medicine and medical support, as well as organise additional caregivers for elderly people receiving care at home during the coronavirus pandemic. Around 400 employees donated over 10,000 euros to the foundation – Deutsche Bank’s total donation to the “Starost v Radost” foundation amounted to 2,400,000 roubles. Under the joint project “We’re here for you – Deutsche Bank”, the Bank’s financial support helped several thousand people in the foundation’s care across the country.

Summing up Deutsche Bank’s charity initiative in Russia, Borislav Ivanov-Blankenburg, CEO&CCO of Deutsche Bank in Russia, Ralph Fiermann, COO for Deutsche Bank in Russia and Ekaterina Sannikova, CEO for Deutsche Bank Technology Centre, emphasized: “For Deutsche Bank, social responsibility is an integral part of our corporate culture.
