Inclusion at Deutsche Bank means embracing open dialogue, valuing diverse views and treating everyone fairly. We believe the best outcomes are achieved when people feel respected, heard, and can contribute fully.
Inclusion is not a standalone initiative; it is embedded in how we collaborate, lead, and operate across the bank.
In practice, this means:
- Encouraging open and constructive dialogue
- Actively seeking different perspectives
- Making inclusive, fair, merit‑based decisions
- Creating an environment where everyone can do their best work

Across the bank, we focus on driving change through everyday actions and decisions:
- Expanding networks and perspectives to include a variety of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets
- Adapting behaviors to create positive team dynamics
- Ensuring fair and inclusive processes
- Managing risk by ensuring decisions are merit‑based and consistent with legal requirements
Managers play a critical role in setting the tone and supporting inclusive ways of working. Inclusion is a shared responsibility and colleagues at every level play a role.
Our Employee Resource Groups create connections, offer inspiration, and support our inclusive culture.
Show content of How we measure progress
Our progress on Inclusion will be measured by a Well-being and Inclusion Index with the goal of achieving a 100% score.
The Index will focus on three key indicators:
- Greater variety of perspectives in senior, decision-making and client-facing roles,
- A more inclusive culture where everyone feels supported and is treated fairly,
- A culture that embraces open dialogue and diverse views, leading to better client outcomes. This approach will support the required behavioral shifts to enable a thriving, more inclusive workforce linked to high performance, ensure employer attractiveness, and continue to comply with local laws.
Inclusion is shaped by everyday actions and decisions.
Our global, multi-dimensional strategy is informed by data, considers regional nuances, and centers on five pillars: leadership accountability, adapting processes, driving behavioral change, demonstrating thought leadership, and ensuring legal compliance.
Practicing inclusive behaviors, creating psychological safety, promoting a sense of belonging, and supporting well-being are essential themes underpinning our strategy.
We actively foster an inclusive environment for all, embracing neurodiversity, disability, socio-economic background, gender, culture and ethnicity, and LGBTQ+.
In line with local legal requirements, inclusion naturally enables us to credibly and sustainably meet our legally required goals for women at MB-1 and MB-2 and narrow the global gender pay gap.
