Recognition by South Korea highlights Deutsche Bank’s FX market expertise and pioneering role in South Korea’s RFI Programme

Deutsche Bank has been recognised by key South Korean regulatory authorities for its outstanding contributions to the country’s financial markets, further cementing its reputation as a market leader in foreign exchange (FX) and innovative banking solutions.

A series of recent awards from South Korea’s top regulators highlight Deutsche Bank’s leadership in FX markets, its pioneering involvement in the Registered Finance Institutions (RFI) programme, and the exceptional expertise of its team. These honours underscore the bank’s commitment to supporting the growth and sophistication of Korea’s financial landscape.

Recognition for Deutsche Bank’s Global Emerging Markets solutions

Deutsche Bank London was recognised by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, receiving a prestigious award presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Koo Yun-Cheol. This accolade acknowledges the team’s instrumental role in developing and energising the RFI market in South Korea.

The RFI scheme enables foreign financial institutions to access Korea’s onshore interbank FX market. Deutsche Bank was among the first to participate, executing the inaugural interbank RFI trade. Since then, the bank has maintained its leadership position, acting as a trusted partner for clients’ FX and hedging requirements.

  • Dohun Lee (GEM): Awarded by the Financial Supervisory Service Governor for providing valuable market insights and policy-related contributions.
  • Sooyeon Jun (GEM): Recognised by the Bank of Korea Governor for trusted collaboration in FX and bond markets.
  • Hye-Rin Ha (Trust & Securities Services): Honoured by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance for her impactful work on improving domestic investment procedures and proactive engagement with supervisory authorities.
