Frieze Art Fair 2009 in London: Deutsche Bank is the main sponsor for the sixth year

Deutsche Bank is the main sponsor of Frieze Art Fair for the sixth consecutive year. The art fair takes place in London from October 15th to 18th. This year, Deutsche Bank is once again using the fair to present works from its substantial corporate collection, and is again supporting the Deutsche Bank Education Space, which familiarizes children and young adults with contemporary art. Last year, the successful cooperation between the bank and Frieze was extended through 2010.
In a short time, Frieze Art Fair has developed into one of the most important international art events. More than 60,000 visitors are expected again this year. The declared aim of both the organizers and Deutsche Bank is to make contemporary art accessible to a wide public. At the art fair, the bank has supported the Deutsche Bank Education Space for four years. The activities delivered by the Royal College of Art (RCA) offer workshops, guided tours and a website to show children and young adults how exciting contemporary art can be.
Deutsche Bank is once again presenting a thematic exhibition in its lounge. This time, it is devoted to the internationally renowned photographer Thomas Struth. In addition to black-and-white photos of German postwar architecture from its collection, the bank is showing current works from his series “Paradise”, which with their cool and distanced views of forests and jungles deal with global intervention in nature.
The connection between art, education and social issues is central to Deutsche Bank’s involvement at Frieze Art Fair.
